A evenhanded retelling of the murders. I liked that Miller addressed the customs of the Victorian era to set the framework of the tragedy. Did she do it???

A really interesting look at the Borden murders. I was really intrigued by the whole thing. I like that Miller presents the information as neutrally as possible. It's up to the reader to decide what they feel about it.

A very interesting true crime. Did she do it? We can only guess. This book gives a complete look at the Lizzie Borden trial; what went wrong, the missing evidence, evidence they overlooked, and how it all played out. This book also gives some great information about how the justice system works and how trials play out. A great read for middle school and high school.

Miller's book about Lizzie Borden is well organized and researched. She presents the facts as they were reported at the time. It is a compelling read.
I would recommend this to readers who like history, those who enjoy reading criminal minds type books, and those interested in Lizzie Borden.

4 1/2 stars. If you are interested in the Borden murders, this is an easy to read account that is not bogged down with too many details.

This felt like it left out a lot, starting with: if it wasn't Lizzie, who the f@!$? was it?

Being from New England, Lizzie Borden is a historical figure that pretty much everyone knows. This is a YA nonfiction title that seeks to tell the story with a lot of good primary information and a solid narrative. It's a good read even if the output is basically a Common Core compliant text for the sake of the libraries, but on its own it's a solid read for those kids who have an interest beyond the surface-level.
