I enjoyed this, but not enough to continue with the series. It starts with multiple character POVs narrating their damaged pasts, then slowly converges into one plot viewed from multiple perspectives. Unfortunately, I didn’t really find any of them to be likable enough for me to care what happens to them next. They were overly broodish and tortured from end to end - I never felt like I was truly enjoying the story. The character-driven storytelling reminded me of Atlas Six, so I’d recommend it for those fans.

Six POVs was tough to follow at times. Even when they were all together, I couldn’t keep them straight. I was disappointed that they all were able to accomplish the great feat only for it to have been a ploy all along. They all still want king June dead so idk why he thinks they’ll work for him. Idk if I want to read the sequel

Twists and turns and more twists.

This was a fast-paced, dark fantasy full of political intrigue and of course, betrayal.

With six distinct POVs, the beginning felt a little overwhelming as I tried to keep track of who was important to whom. The trade off with juggling so many characters is that not all of them get the depth they deserve. However, they're all morally grey and thirsty AF tbh.

The worldbuilding hints at Korean folklore, which I loved, but I definitely wanted more. The gods are mentioned, but the details are lacking imo.

Still, the sharp tension, messy alliances, and constant betrayals made this an entertaining read that fans of KP Demon Hunters will likely enjoy.
