Six POVs was tough to follow at times. Even when they were all together, I couldn’t keep them straight. I was disappointed that they all were able to accomplish the great feat only for it to have been a ploy all along. They all still want king June dead so idk why he thinks they’ll work for him. Idk if I want to read the sequel

Twists and turns and more twists.

This was a fast-paced, dark fantasy full of political intrigue and of course, betrayal.

With six distinct POVs, the beginning felt a little overwhelming as I tried to keep track of who was important to whom. The trade off with juggling so many characters is that not all of them get the depth they deserve. However, they're all morally grey and thirsty AF tbh.

The worldbuilding hints at Korean folklore, which I loved, but I definitely wanted more. The gods are mentioned, but the details are lacking imo.

Still, the sharp tension, messy alliances, and constant betrayals made this an entertaining read that fans of KP Demon Hunters will likely enjoy.

a fast, bingeable read with short chapters and a rotating cast of characters that kept the pace moving, and i always appreciate a good found family dynamic. each pov feels distinct, with differing motivations and secrets that helped keep things interesting.

that said, the writing itself is pretty average. some of the language, especially in aeri and royo’s chapters, leans into a kind of modern, relatable tone that often felt more childish than charming, pulling me out of the story.

also, this book is extremely horny, to the point where character development and plot goals sometimes feel like afterthoughts. i hesitate to call it romance because the pairings happen fast, chemistry is minimal, and emotional connections are often implied through off-page history or convenient forced proximity.

enjoyable enough, but i wish it had dug a little deeper into the world, stakes, and relationships instead of relying so heavily on lust and tropes. still very fun and i’m sure i’ll pick up the sequel when i need a quick read.
