This is between a 3.5 and a 4. It was really good! The twist at the end was cool. You care about the characters. However the storyline moves very quickly and there are alot of characters to keep track of.

The start and end dates say it all. I had a really hard time getting into this book and I almost gave it up because it was all over the place. It sort of hit a stride towards the end, but it took a lot to get there. I have the next book in the series, so I might keep going, but I’m not sure it’s worth it. TBD.

This started strong, and I appreciated the effort, but overall it was a pretty underwhelming fantasy read. Although I found it easy to follow, the six different POVs made for very little character development, and therefore lowered the stakes so muchso that by the ending, there wasn’t any one charactor that I was truly rooting for or invested in. Definitely a quick & easy read, but would not recommend to lovers of high/world-building fantasy.
