Confermo: personaggi stereotipati. Niente di male eh ma sono al limite del piatto tanto sono appassiti per essere copie di altri libri. La trama sarebbe anche carina se fosse scritta meglio. Vengono dati dettagli di cui oggettivamente non ce n'è frega niente e spesso vengono ripetute le stesse informazioni e descrizioni ancora, ancora e ancora. Alcune scelte di narrazione e plottwist sono in realtà facilmente intuibili. Il romance poteva essere sviluppato meglio anche se con idee comunque semplici. Ma venirmi a dire che le mani di uno sconosciuto sono "casa" dal primo momento mi pare eccessivo. L'ho sentita tanto come una copia di sei di corvi che non ci ha creduto abbastanza. Consigliato sicuramente per un pubblico più giovane e in cerca di qualcosa di molto leggero. Non penso proseguirò la saga.

Picked this up on a whim cause I liked the cover, and read the first five pages before I made it to the register to buy it. This book is one of the strongest character driven novels I've read in a very long time. I had to binge read/listen(I bought the physical and audio versions) so that I didn't miss anything! The first sentence grabs you and you have to keep reading so that you find out what happens next. Added bonus? I listened to it the first time while traveling in Asia, which was fabulous, and have since binged it five more times cause I can't get enough! Mai Corland has crafted six beautifully flawed, morally gray, human characters that I love so much that even when the traitor was revealed(no spoilers) I couldn't exactly hate this character because I loved and sympathized with all of them and it takes a very talented author to do that. I had an inkling of who it might be before the reveal, but it still made me mad for reasons I won't go into due to spoilers, and I felt bad at the same time(for reasons I won't go into because of spoilers). Also, each chapter is told from a different first person POV so the reader had an opportunity to get in each character's head, but even then, the characters still had surprise revelations that made my jaw drop or squeal or whatever. Personal favorites are Royo, Euyn and Mikail(mostly because I LOVE backstories like theirs) but Sora and Aerie were equally fabulous and well rounded female characters! I pre-ordered book two as soon as it was announced and it's coming TOMORROW and I CAN BARELY CONTAIN MYSELF.
