I found out about this "novela" on a podcast and discovered that the author wanted a majority of them sold by his neighborhood store Shakespeare and Co in NYC. My son snagged me an autographed copy for Xmas.

I really enjoy the authors writing style, and it was an interesting look at Eve from Rules of Civility .

A so-so collection of essays about a side character in Towles' superior novel The Rules of Civility. Not really worth the money or the time.

Why is Amor Towles working in finance when he writes such beautiful prose? Sure, Eve in Hollywood is no [b: Rules of Civility|10054335|Rules of Civility|Amor Towles|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1311705045s/10054335.jpg|14950407] but it's a very lovely novella. I never thought guys today can write so refined. 3,5*

A little follow-up ditty about a character from Rules of Civility. The reader is hopefully they will get one more peek at the delightful Eve Ross but it is so short one's pleasure is shut down quickly. Only available in ebook format, the book promises 91 pages but it was only a meager, scrumptious 81 pages. My final plug to you all to read Rules of Civility. It will be your best read of the year. Promise!

While I appreciated this little extension of the Rules of Civility story, it felt more like an amuse-bouche--a not something that should be left standing alone. And the trailed-off ending elicited a frown. Still, Evey, I'm waiting to see where you end up.

My only complaint is I wanted more! I love Amor Towles writing.
