Next to You is my favorite Hannah Bonam-Young book. Lane is incredibly realistic and relatable as someone with anxiety. Her struggles felt real and I liked that she worked to better herself outside of the romance plotline. Matt is the book boyfriend of everyone's dreams; warm, kind, and sexy. A great read!

[a:Hannah Bonam-Young|22325481|Hannah Bonam-Young|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1672621626p2/22325481.jpg] really knows how to tell a story—she couldn’t write a bad book if she tried. This book gave me all the feels, and also… a mental image of Matt as Jason Momoa that I refuse to let go of. (If that wasn’t the intention—sorry, but it’s too late now!)
Overall, a thoughtful, well-paced romance with characters who feel real and complicated. Definitely worth reading.

Normally, I’m not a fan of a breakup in the third act, but this one felt necessary. Lane needed space for some serious soul-searching, and the story gave her that room in a way that made sense.Overall, a thoughtful, well-paced romance with characters who feel real and complicated. Definitely worth reading.

“you've ruined me. do it again.”
this book ruined ME. it's also better than the first book.
like don't get me wrong, i still love next of kin, but warren didn't make the greatest first impressions (he was a jerk) while matt was a kind soul right from the start. this really sets the tone for any relationship, and i didn't realize how important that was until now.
matt and lane with their communication, playful banter, the angst — and the freaking chemistry 🔥🔥🔥 their connection was just so much stronger and healthier.
they were basically in a friends with benefits situation but they weren’t very good at it??? and just so you know, i don't usually like this trope but after reading this i've been converted. happily.
