I can write an early review since...well the same things that happened before happened again.

Charley is over her amnesia. She knows things about Reyes...and will learn more. Seriously, it just keeps on getting more and more confusing. Also I would like to see them use those powers they have. Wouldn't that be cool. They are supposedly so powerful..

I lost the thread. Right. Charley is on a case. But there are bigger things happening too, obviously. Everyone is after Beep. And that still breaks me, why oh why? Why can't they all be together!

Reyes is still mmmmm droolworthy, but the book needed more Reyes. I get that Charley is funny, but hey, more Reyes can never go wrong ;)

So yes the usual. A mystery. Some smexy time. A battle between Good and Evil. Blurry lines between Good and Evil. What is good and Evil. The whole Reyes and Charley meant to be becoming one big awww, so meant to be!

But, I do feel like this series has started to stagnate. Before they got better and better, now they are sliding back again. Even if it is good, there is nothing new. They sell because they sell, and we get more. But..an ending would be good.

“I mean, I can’t fly or anything. Or stop a bullet. Though I did stop a knife once. With my leg. I still have the scars if you wanna see.”

You know what I just realized? There's no vampires, werewolves, witches or fae in this series. And it's still some badass urban fantasy.

Okay, so I thought we had all (most?) of the puzzle pieces, but nooOOOooo, there's just more whoppers waiting to floor you all over again. The giant puzzle piece we learn about in this book changes the game. I thought we already did that!!!

So, since I can't say much without giving everything away, I'm going to make some notes for myself in that way I do. Okay, ::exhales::, let's start with...hunt, going to Hell, demon gods, The Sentry, brothers?!, memory tampering, prison dimension, progress.

There are still a couple of things I don't get (the young Rocket part, for instance?), but all in all, it's building into something I really couldn't see from only the first couple of books. Pretty cool.

It was nice that the story felt like it was moving forward again (I really felt like Charley loosing her memory just put the whole thing on pause). It's nice that Charley and Reyes are getting on better- I still wish they'd trust each other but it is nice that they are more trusting (it's taken quite a while to get to this point though!)

The plot itself was fairly typical of the previous books though and the series does feel a bit like it's going round in circles.

The lore of this series changes every book lol. Actually liked this book more than the last few. Less sex scenes definitely helped— even then i had to skip through a lot.

Holy smokes things are heating up! My favorite part about these books is how when I'm reading them I feel like I'm watching a television show such as Supernatural. Just when you think things can't get any more crazy you are blindsided with another task, another issue, another dilemma. My heart breaks for Charley not being able to be with Beep. I can't wait to read the next book!

Ah…Charley. My love for you and your husband is so complete that there is no possible way Ms. Jones could ever do anything to make me hate you. Save for maybe a sudden introduction of the most annoying plot device in the history of writing (love triangle), I just don’t see myself ever rating your books less than 5 stars (knock on the wood). I can’t tell you how happy I was when I learned that there were to be two releases in one year for this series. I don’t know why Ms. Jones did that, but I’m not going to complain. If anything, I want to go Kathy Bates on her ass and chain her to her writing desk until her fingers bleed. Sadly, I hear that kind of thing is frowned upon and would apparently land me in jail, so I guess I have no choice but to wait with the rest of the peasants.

back to reality

This is a month after Charley’s memory came back. Back to regular programming. The human race’s survival rests upon a month-old baby in hiding. And Charley came back with a few secrets – which strains her relationship with Reyes – who, by the way, seems to be avoiding her like the plague. That in itself is a little tough to do considering they’re married. But what was once a very sexually active relationship has cooled down considerably. Charley has no idea why, but at the same time, she’s terrified to ask. Because that would entail Reyes consequently asking questions of his own.

little bo beep

In the meantime, Beep is still hidden and guarded by a whole army of …well, guardians. Charley and Reyes are attempting to deny their longing for their child, but they both know that they would only be leading their enemies directly to Beep. I’m excited for what this little person could do! At least, from what the story has been leading up to. The possibility of her being more powerful than her parents and her fated romance with
SpoilerOsh
. It reminds me of Jacob imprinting on Reneesme, to be honest [insert uncomfortable giggling here], but I don’t really care one bit. I do wonder if there’s going to be a spinoff featuring Beep when she’s a little bit older. Oh, the possibilities!

in retrospect

This is one of those series that I wouldn’t mind reading forever. It could go on and on until I have an entire Charley Davidson-Farrow library. It’s hilarious, sexy, and so much fun. You’re always guaranteed a good time with every installment. Ms. Jones, as usual, has a cachè of fresh sarcasm and wit. It’s never the same so you’re always treated to her comedic brilliance. Keep them coming is what I say!

The Curse Of Tenth Grave had me glued to the pages from the very beginning and didn't let me go until the end, in fact it still has a hold on me. I devoured this book in one sitting. So many things happened in this book that I'm practically giddy to see where the story goes next. I highly recommend this book and series to all paranormal and urban fantasy lovers.

99% of this book is Charley’s and Reyes’s inability to communicate with each other. It was quite a slog to get through and while the ending was interesting enough, I am once again not enthusiastic to continue this series.

Side note- why do all these gross men make out with Charley?!
