Cannot express my love for Riyria enough. The drama, developments, and relationships continue to evolve and grow. Fantastic read!

A great sequel to a series that's becoming one of my favorites. I'm already looking forward to book 3.
One thing I want to say is, this series feels very much like side adventures, so there is no big goal. It's still got so much good stuff in it that I didn't care.
The characters are so good. I think Sullivan writes very nice dialogues. I loved the banter between Royce, Hadrian and Albert.
Reuben's storyline was very sweet though. I hope nothing bad happens to him!

I read the first book in this series, and I kinda liked it but felt I'd not seen enough of the character dynamic and plot in the series to make my verdict. The first few chapters of this book and the short story in the 'Unfettered' collection later, I must say that I see nothing noteworthy in this author's work. The characters don't hook me, and in this book, I found the newly introduced boy's story especially stereotypical and - sorry - boring. The dynamic between the two protagonists sounded intriguing in the first book, but it soon started feeling flat. Once they established an understanding, once you get to know the protagonists, they turn out to be rather average guys, one a little naive, the other a little too ruthless. That's all there is. That would be enough for a short story, but is not enough (for me) for multiple book series surrounding them.

Best Ryiria book I've read thus far. Plenty action, things are rarely as they first seem or work out they way you first think they will. This one was a tight thing.

The prequel to the Riryia Relevations.

Despite this taking place prior to the main series, I would recommend reading those six books first and then the two prequels as there are so many tidbits and insights you get having done so in that order.

It’s fun to see how Royce and Hadrian’s relationship begin having just being giving glimpses and inside jokes about it in the main series.
I missed the sprawling plot that was apparent in the main series, but seeing as this is the prequel with only two books, this is more understandable.
