5 stars are just no enough!
Oh my word. This book is amazing! I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful this book is because I know that my words will never, ever do it justice! The world is so amazing, and the characters are amazing, and the story is amazing! The book made me laugh, the book almost made me cry, and it completely consumed me!
After reading Lies of Locke Lamora, I was dying to read this book! I am so emotionally invested in the characters now, I feel an unbelievable bond with them. Their fears are my fears, their joy is my joy. I can not praise this book enough! This is a series that I know I will read again, over and over, until I can recite the word in my sleep. Just…GAH!

A touch of a slower start than the first, but I still enjoyed this. I appreciate the author’s commitment to exploring more of the world with every plot line. You don’t usually find a second book (and third book) that contain just as much world building as the first, but this series delivers.

My one other qualm besides the slightly slower start was
how easily the tense moment with a possible betrayal from Jean was explained away.
I expected more from that and was a little disappointed.

This is the second book in Lynch's Gentleman Bastards series. Lots of clever scams, cons, and slight of hand from Locke Lamora and Co. It didn't grip me quite the same as the first book, but was still heartily entertaining.

4.5 stars! Locke and Jean at their best!

Not quite overly fantastical like book three and more variety than book one. A joy to read and I may pick it up again before the long awaited book 4 just to refamiliarize myself with our protagonists:)
