I liked this book a lot. I grew to like all six of the characters a lot, and the six povs didn’t annoy me that much. There were times where I felt the plot was super drawn out, but I was also pretty interested in it. People having powers is always cool for me, so that already gave this book bonus points. Almost like Lego Ninjago irl! There is also a lot of theoretical/philosophical messages in this book due to how the six interact with the Alexandrian Society. It kind of reminds me of Babel in a way? Babel if the people had powers that dealt with time and physics instead of languages!

I enjoyed the diversity of the magic system, and a very plot driven book. Writing from several POVs (and thus magic specialties) were appreciated, though it did feel like the characters were very cliche or one-sided
It was a good idea, I liked the characters. But she had the whole library of Alexandria to work with and just… didn’t? It’s such a strange choice.

Listening to audiobook - the story just wasn’t grabbing me and it felt much more about the relationships between characters than the story - which is fine but just too slow for me.
slow-paced
World building is weak. I feel like any world building there was had been pulled from other stories. I felt like this with another book from this author. The book became laborious at points and felt like the characters were just talking to talk sometimes. The characters were good and I enjoyed them. The ending was by far the best part but I’m not sure if I’ll keep going with the series.
