Very cute story. I like it being told in verse. I don’t typically read survival stories but this was gifted to me and I enjoyed following the main character as she tried to survive. Some sad scenes w animals. It didn’t bother me that the threat was not explained or a central focus as it was just a plot device to propel the main character’s journey of being alone and resilient. Loved that she went to the library to learn skills and big plus for mentions and inspiration from Mary Oliver —whose words touch me too.
