Really, this deserves 3.5 stars. Tense writing, interesting characters, descriptive and imaginative.
Looking forward to more from this author.

Great plot, great story, great book.
Each and every character had a unique identity that was tangible and superbly portrayed. Their internal conflictions and unique compositions were clearly evident and not once do you feel they aren’t 100% believable.
I probably still don't think I like Wolf that much, or more precisely I don't think I like the way he handled the entire situation, but I can relate to or at least accept the reasoning behind those actions.
Anyway, this is a brilliantly written crime thriller that you won't regret picking up. Keeps you on the edge, yet has you laughing out loud with splashes of dark humour every now and then.
Thanks to NetGalley and Orion for a great read in exchange for an honest review.

Summer reading at its best. Gory, low-neuron-bandwidth narrative, featuring archetypal characters that don't suffer much from underdevelopment. Ok.
I don't read a lot of crime fiction (one too many James Patterson novels will do that to a person), but this one sounded so interesting that I just couldn't help myself. A killer that leaves a "ragdoll" of body parts sewn together before releasing a list of names and dates for future victims to the media? Hell, yes!
I really enjoyed the story, and the ending wasn't quite what I expected--I like it in some ways, but not in others.
I loved the characters in the book. They each had stand-out personalities that made them seem real and exciting, and I loved watching them interact with each other. It seems crazy to me that I could have grown so attached to these characters, but I have. I'm even looking forward to the next novel!

It started off promising but by the end I was mostly underwhelmed.

Disgraced Detective Wolf is on the case of a serial killer who seems to be fulfilling his wildest dreams: killing everyone involved with the case that destroyed his reputation and led to the death of a little girl. The trouble is, some of the people involved are innocent. The bigger trouble is that Wolf himself is the last one on the hit list. The Death Clock is literally counting down.
As a police procedural, Ragdoll is solid. There's not a single character I don't want to know more about, and I enjoyed the mystery. As a thriller, the book is maybe a little too wild. Wolf goes full Elliott Stabler, the murder methods are impossible, and the ending makes me wonder how the heck there can be two more books in the series when everyone should be dead or in jail. Which I guess means I have to read them. Well played, Daniel Cole.

Eindelijk weer eens een boek uitgelezen! Spannende thriller waar het nog lang onduidelijk blijft wat er nou precies aan de hand is, maar verder niet perse een boek waar ik nog veel over na zal denken. Maar I enjoyed it!
