I don't know if I'm disappointed in the ending or not, but other than that the book was great and very fast paced.

This was definitely better than the second book, but was still missing the magic of the first. I liked the series, though, and would recommend it to fans of YA.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT AND AMAZING!!!
Eventful and gripping plot, plenty of unexpected twists and turns, excellent writing, unforgettable characters, shocking discoveries and only one regret - that's the last book of the trilogy (though I'd say that the ending leaves a possibility of a sequel or at least a spin-off, so if the author is willing - that will be great!!!). This is definitely the best angel book I've ever read - not only in the plot and angel world aspect, but also in the atmosphere and vibe of the book, which are truly divine and unearthly.
It was unexpected for me how things ended romantically. I like both Tucker and Christian, but still my favourite male character is Sam, who is one of the best secondary characters ever created. Well, I'll say no more - just go and read it!

I have finally done it! Finished a series I first started years ago. I read [b:Unearthly|7488244|Unearthly (Unearthly, #1)|Cynthia Hand|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1324782984s/7488244.jpg|9621771] and [b:Hallowed|11563110|Hallowed (Unearthly, #2)|Cynthia Hand|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1332883896s/11563110.jpg|14532305] probably back in 2012. I was recently looking for an audiobook to listen to on my way to/from work, and I decided to finally come back to this series. And now, all I'm wondering is... what took me so long??

This book nicely wraps up the story we have been following through the first 2.5 books...a feat I wasn't sure was going to be accomplished when I was getting very close to the end. But it all tied together!

Some highlights for me included: Clara developing some new skills, a chat with an unexpected companion, surprise visits from someone close, and building on even more complicated relationships.
SpoilerAlso, Samjeeza returning Maggie's charm bracelet to Clara with a new little bird charm. *cries*

Some things I didn't care for:

-This book felt almost like it should have been more than one book, the way the plot twisted. I mean, the plot weaves together overall, but there were three very distinct stages that almost felt like different stories.

-And also...
Spoilerthe fact that all the main characters on the side of good made it out alive. Seriously — Clara, Christian, Angela, Tucker, and Jeffrey all made it through? I mean, sure, Tucker *technically* died — and trust me, I was sobbing like a baby during the Heaven scene — but in the end, all was well. I mean, Christian's ending wasn't necessarily happy, so it's not like everything was perfectly resolved... but this was a major war. The only war-related death we saw was Angela's mother...which was sad, but not all that impactful. It just didn't seem realistic that this huge war would have no casualties on the good side. Then again, this is a paranormal story, so realism isn't the first priority...

As for the ending, well.... I got what I wanted, so I was happy. But it wrapped up the love triangle nicely, which I appreciated.

The unearthly is still not one of favourite series. Though, I have to admit the storyline did have more depth in boundless. All I ever got in the first and second book was a love triangle, a stalker-antagonist, and a death that was meant to make our hearts ache – I must be emotionless, but it never did. I’m a big believer that if a book starts out ‘okay’ or ‘slightly bad’ than there’s a heavy chance it won’t improve to a certain degree in the sequel. I was slightly surprised however with boundless. It turned out to be amusing, entertaining and just right above the ‘okay’ mark.

I know the unearthly series is cherished momentously by numerous readers on Goodreads, in addition to the particular people who make it seem as if was a masterpiece. I on the other hand, never felt as if it was anything astounding. To be truthful, it still isn’t. It is more or less like any other YA book on earth. It offers nothing new, except angels being sent a purpose which they have to fulfil, and a protagonist who realizes she has incredible powers – to the point where it is strikingly obvious, that the heroine is going to come out alive in every life-threating situation she encounters, without a scratch. I’m really sick and tired of heroine’s who find out they’re immensely special, and have countless powers, therefore they transform to this perfect and flawless being, that it becomes unbelievably hard to relate or even connect with them.

Clara Gardner is one of those over-exaggerated special characters. I get it. She’s an angel, therefore she is meant to be faultless plus remarkable, but even her personality at times was ‘too good to be true.’ Clara was excessively senseless, and sometimes it was clearly shoved up your throat to make her likable. The only time she was unreasonably being mean was when she was with Christian, who is by far one of the most likable characters. Arguably, I felt Clara was a hypocrite. I remember her vastly complaining, when Christian drove home his ex-girlfriend, since she was currently having a tough time due to their breakup or whatever. Anyway, Clara made him out to be the worst human being possible out of it. Yet, it was reasonably fair for her to hurt Christian’s feelings numerous times in boundless.

I also hate “It was entirely my fault, I should suffer and die painfully and slowly for my mistakes,” Characters. How do you except a character to be physically strong, when they aren't even emotionally solid? Something to think about…

I’m also not a fan of tucker aka Kentucky chicken (what a terrible name. If only the name sounded as yummy as kentcky chicken, and had the same appeal). That’s all I need to say about him.

I guess this is more of series review of unearthly, rather than really boundless.

Okay, strangely I did give this book - series nearly four stars…it was a fun and easy read for boring days, but undoubtedly nothing beyond incredible.

I enjoyed this series. I was amused by the strict adherence to the YA-ness...avoiding too much intimacy seemed awkward and forced sometimes (cock-blocked by glory-LMAO) but the story was engaging and I liked the characters. I found the ending odd...so much play with the love triangle and then..boom, she ends up with one and the other, who really did everything right and was so committed just doesn't get the happily ever after..just goes off and doesn't return home all that much. Weird. Nothing else about this book seemed beholden to realism so that was unsatisfying to me but maybe we will get a book 4 or a spin off series or something. Who knows...

I think I'm glad this series ended. Not that I don't love the books. But sometimes I feel like authors keep dragging out stories that should just end. I can't say I loved the ending. But the heroine ends up happy. I'm not sure why I don't feel like I am happy. Slightly frustrating, but over all a fantastic series.
