This biography did not sugarcoat Audrey Hepburn's life, but it did not treat it like a gossip column either. The facts were presented well, and the author always pointed out when he was speculating, which was very rare. What more could you ask from a biographer? I wanted to learn more about the actress, and I did.

30 % Audrey Hepburn.
70 % retelling of movies and their logistics.
I liked the Audrey part...

I really enjoyed learning more about Audrey than the popular, glamorous image of a gorgeous woman from Breakfast at Tiffany's that most people see. It saddened me to hear of her desire of true love and family and the struggles she had with miscarriages and still births. Also, her later work with UNICEF inspired by her experience as a starving young adult growing up in the Netherlands is absolutely incredible.

This book was fascnitating. I loved Audrey Hepburn in the movies, but I loved getting to know more about her.

I didn't know she lived in German occupied Holland, or that she originally wanted to be a ballerian, or that she started UNICEF.

She was a remarkable lady who enchanted all those around her. She is elegant, classy, but this book made her a human that we can all relate to.

A great book for all those Audrey Hepburn fans.

I learned a lot about Audrey Hepburn in "Enchantment." I was particularly fascinated by how she felt about acting and that she basically felt it was a means to an end. She's so iconic, but she just wanted to be a mother and then work with charities later. It was interesting to hear about the filming of these movies and which ones were kind of a disaster. For a biography, the author snuck a bit too much of their opinion about some of the movies in. Overall an interesting read, and I want to check out a couple of the movies I haven't watched now.

No doubt she led a fascinating life but the relentless fawning over AH was tiresome.
