Really cute. A little cheesy but in a good way.

The culture in this book is not super familiar to me. I think I've maybe been to one quinceanera in my whole life? However, I found messages I loved and related to throughout the book. Lupe has an awesome family and each family member has quirks. She also wants to help everyone but starts feeling tired and overworked. She tries to stand up for what she knows is right and gets hurt because of it. Basically, she overcomes some mental pushback, physical weakness, and social anxiety in her superhero journey, which only lasts while she is 15.

This book feels like a complete story arc for Lupe but leaves room for more adventures for her sister. This was worth the read to me. I didn't love the art style, but I really liked the characters.

This is it, a graphic novel made for me! I remember my quince with elation and confusion ( bing a Latinx teenager is complicated). I had a MAJOR crush on a Vietnamese boy in 8th grade so yay Devin! Lupe is so real and funny and the unlikely hero of her own story. Her whole family are wonderfully quirky, well developed characters and not Latinx caricatures at all. Lupe refers to Oscar Isaac and Michael B. Jordan as celebrity crushes- same girl, same. I felt Lupe so hard. I have never seen myself represented in a comic series as the heroine. I am a fan!

This was a fun and charming story about a teenage girl with superpowers dealing with normal life problems. It's one of those nice stories where everyone's pretty okay even if they have it rough.

I might have scored higher except for the fact that the fonts are all different sizes throughout--all the word bubbles are the same size and they shrink the fonts to fit more words in when they need to. Which means some fonts were too small for me to read at all. Lost points on a technicality, but it really got in the way of my enjoyment at times!
