Had promise, but just didn't work -- scenes too long, drawn out, etc.

Audiobook reading wasn't very good also.

Unoriginal

I really wanted to like this book. Unfortunately, the characters are painfully stereotypical and it's hard to take them seriously. Her Aunts are written as of they're the Golden Girls meets Bewitched, but it's so forced and over the top. I cringed through the fight scene with the sorceress as the MC spouted one painful sarcastic comment after another. I'm not ready to give up on the author's other works yet, but this is definitely an author who's got some growth ahead, I hope.

What’s the best cure for a break up? Heading back to your family home and getting sucked into the family business when you haven’t got a clue what you’re doing and can barely do a spell to save your life. Yup that’s exactly what Tess does and it was the best dose of medicine a girl could ask for. Solving mysteries her her vampy Bff and defeating evil along side a hunky were/person, what could be better? Can’t wait to read book 2.
