Ugh I DNFed this. I really enjoyed the first book but this was just TOOOO damn long. Giving it 2 rather than 1 star because I did enjoy it to an extent I just don’t have the patience to read the whole thing lol 450 pages was enough no way am I getting to 1000.

2 stars. This is the end of the line for me.
I don't know about this series. It has some much potential and just continuously falls short. I love the found family, but in this book I started liking Loren and Darien less, but I also didn't want the chapters about Max and Dallas? It didn't hold my attention very well and I found myself struggling to get through it. The cliffhanger almost was enough to make me read book three, but honestly if I do anything, it would just be quickly skim to see what happens. Life is too short to stick with a series that isn't great simply because you started it. I think introducing Roman and more of the world is going to turn me off anymore, as I want to stick with the original characters if anything and get more from Darien and Loren.
I think this series was just a miss for me, and I think this was the last book I'll fully read in it. BookTok let me down on this one!
