RE-READ 

This book is just soooo good. It picks up right where the first one leaves off and is just full of action and emotion from the first page to the last. 

I think this book is really a book for Darien. It's so emotional to see his struggles with his mental health and self-value. 
I also loved seeing more of Max & Dallas. Every crumb of their relationship I just eat up. 
Loren is definitely cooler in this book than the first and the amount of lore and info you get about the magic system, the well, the realms, etc is so so interesting. 
I love every scene at the crossroads. Those beings are so interesting to me. 
This book is obviously way long, but I think all the information is worth it and it's paced really well. 

Having read the third book also, I can really see how this book sets things up for the third book. So much foreshadowing I wasn't aware of during my first read of this book is so obvious now.

So good!! God tier series for me.

City of Souls and Sinners by Kayla Edwards was everything! Solid 5 out of 5 stars from me. This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time—there was never a dull moment. Everyone was dealing with something intense: Loren had her own chaos she had to handle solo, and Darien was juggling all the mess with his family. And don’t even get me started on the side characters—Malakai (I’m obsessed), Tanner, and the rest of the crew were just perfection. I loved Loren’s growth in this one; she’s finally stepping into her power, and I was cheering her on the whole way. The romance? Total chef’s kiss. I loved everything about this book. Can’t wait to reread book 3 so I can finally dive into book 4!

This was better than the first. But once again, it’s very detailed and long but I somehow still feel lost. Also, for reference, this book is like 740 pages, not 978.
