Love when a sequel redeems a series!!! This was a pleasant surprise and it really felt like this series came into its own in City of Souls and Sinners. The story was original and cohesive and the writing felt more mature which I realllly needed to see after book one. I loved seeing Loren’s development, Darien’s depth as a character and the intro of a new POV. The world really expands in this one and the demons were proper scary lol. The second half was gooood and the ending left me wanting more! These books are CHUNKY and to me feel slow going at times, but there is always enough happening to keep me hooked. I have a feeling it will continue to get better and better as the series goes on.
