This book dragged on way long than it needed to. The ideas and plot were very good and solid but the story was way too long. Felt like nothing happened until the end. The lack of urgency of characters also gave me anxiety.
I would love for the book to be a little less predictable in terms of characters lives. Anytime a character is in danger or about to die I’m always like well they’ll just come back or be fine because they always are. Sounds horrible but a death would make the story a little more hard hitting.

Wow! I didn’t think it was possible for me to fall more in love with this series and I was proven wrong. This sequel was just as good, if not better than the first book. I absolutely love all of these characters. Darien continues to be top book boyfriend material. He just constantly has me swooning. I just love a tough man who is only soft for his girl. Darien and Loren are one of my all time favorite couples. I loved the growth Loren goes through in this book. She is so strong and I really enjoyed learning more about her. This series just checks so many boxes. We have an amazing plot, immersive world-building and one of the best found families. I can’t wait to continue with this series!
