Was going to add half a star extra but remembered how much I disliked how the FMC was for most of the novel.Seriously, she was constantly used, stepped over etc and never did anything about it except write in a book - which was quite the tool later...
MMC was decent and part of the book's charm. The secondary characters that had any personality shown were good too - supported the story. The spice was better given in the "tease" or lead up rather than the big bang and subsequent follow up scenes. The writing was easy to read but two things stood out:

MMC was decent and part of the book's charm. The secondary characters that had any personality shown were good too - supported the story. The spice was better given in the "tease" or lead up rather than the big bang and subsequent follow up scenes. The writing was easy to read but two things stood out:
Huge tits and juices are used so frequently that I just ... Zoned out in some of the spicy scenes... Also gagged at the Christmas themed sex tall but considering the theme, that's on me. This is my biggest gripe - and I looked briefly at some of the author's other works which confirmed it more - it reads like an extreme daydream meets self-insert after a fight or inconvenience happened around the author. With the MMC being the hero to save the FMC/author. This daydream/self-insert read was sponsored by either cooking for family and no one worshiping the author or a story of a friend of a friend getting cheated on. Another one of her works reads like she didn't get a compliment back after giving them out to randoms.
Props to the author cause she has many many many books written but dear god I don't think I'll read again cause while her writing is easy to consume, her characters, especially FMC, suck or aren't as developed.
This was equal parts hilarious, smutty, and festive. I loved every single trainwreck moment spent reading this book.
Gracie & Hudson are total opposites and are actually enjoyable together.
I was grateful to see that Gracie grows a backbone and learns to stand up for herself. Her family is toxic AF, and she starts out being a complete doormat.
I liked to see that Hudson softened and learned that he has value and that he's more than his upbringing. He is his biggest enemy in this book. He is his own toxicity, to be honest.
The family members are insufferable, except like 2, so be prepared to absolutely hate parts of this book because in the moment I did. But hindsight, i think I appreciated those moments as it made the ending a bit sweeter

Almost DNFed but, like a train wreck, I had to stay until the end. Every character was infuriating and her family was awful but I was hooked enough to read 500 pages of a contemporary christmas story
