It starts off horribly when Gracie catches her fiancé, James, getting it on with her sister, Kelly, under the Christmas tree. Her family blames Gracie for being selfish when she's upset, especially when James and Kelly announce they're in love and are also getting engaged. Kelly was always the favourite daughter, after all.
A year later, Gracie is planning her perfect wedding... for her sister. Kelly wants everything she had planned the year before for her own wedding, and she was expected to cater it, organize it, and even PAY for it with the promise they'd "pay her back." Unfortunately, Gracie had no backbone when it came to her family and was the ultimate doormat. She needed to figure something out. When she meets a stranger on the bus, she comes up with a plan.
Hudson is not who he appears to be at first. Their meeting wasn't chance. He had been hired to look into her, the reason becoming clear later in the book. He doesn't do love, relationships, or Christmas. He built a wall around his heart and doesn't allow emotions to cloud his judgemental or get in the way of his missions. But kind, loving Gracie is hard not to soften around, and he finds himself slowly doing just that.
In the end, everyone gets exactly what they deserve, and it's the perfect conclusion for this reader! I'm going to jump into the second book next!

More adult content than I like, but the plot and characters and storyline were so much better executed than book 2, which I read first. I liked Gracie and Hudson.
