It is not this crazily well written book, with realistic scenes, BUT it was hella fun to read.

The characters annoyed me until about halfway through the book: Gracie had no backspine and was a pushover (which always infuriates me in books) and Hudson was constantly an assh*le whose actions were pissing me off.

But it gets better, there's character development for both of them; there's a little plot that creates a bit of drama; and there's quite a few funny scenes, especially with Grandma Murray. Give that women an award because she carried the whole comedy part of the book on her back.

It's a fun read, especially if you're looking for a holiday themed book. But this is NOT as cute and innocent as it look. Definitely not. 👀

Fun Christmas with some good laughs (Grandma Murray). Hoped the novella was available outside of the newsletter. I kind of enjoyed the falling apart and adult “coming of age” as a strong independent person…but then they still make brunch for everyone. 🙄 A lot of really explicit sex.

I was hoping for a cute Christmas romance and it was sort of that, except that the main characters were pretty annoying and hard to root for. The main female character is such a push over that it is hard to read and the main male character acts like an asshole most of the book (as he's supposed to given the plot, but really gives very little reason for anyone to like him much less fall in love with him other than we keep being told he's hot). Also, the dialogue in the spicy scenes was so cringey it made it hard to even read without rolling my eyes -- it was like reading a script for a cheesy Christmas porn. There were some cute parts and Granny Murray is the best character by far, and I also enjoyed the BFF Dakota.
