Reminded me of "The Bear and the Nightingale", "Little Thieves" and "Spirited Away" and these are all some of my favorite things. So of course I enjoyed this one as well. Now I'm hoping for a sequel ...

Ok… it’s been a while since I got this excited about a book and just wanted to keep listening to it so I could find out what happens.

I love that this is a Slavic folklore tale about a water nymph who wants to regain her humanity. And by that, she needs a mortal boy to kiss her. Which is hard when the town exorcist keeps chasing you away and, well, trying to exorcise you.

This book was heartwarming. I loved the friendships that formed along the way. The feeling of love and belonging comes through this book so well. I enjoyed the different spirits and demons and felt it was just an overall enjoyable read.

Like the others- I really I. hope there is another book coming because I feel it ended on a tiny cliffhanger.

If you are looking for a poly/LGBTQ, cozy fantasy that has found family and just overall fun friendships- then I highly recommend!

Wanted to like it more, the folklore was great but felt like a lot of ideas being thrown around without much purpose to the story. The writing was so cliché it was distracting. Unsatisfying ending...

This book did take me a while to get into it as straight away I wasn't invested in the characters at all, but after a while of getting to know them I was then hooked.

This book was such a fun and if not for some of the more dangerous aspects I'd almost say cosy.

I really enjoyed her journey on the theory that if she can a water nymph can get a kiss by a human she can be human again. Watching her try and achieve this was a so much fun.

I forgot this wasn't a standalone and I am now excited for the sequel to this as I can't wait to read more about these characters and this world.

Thank you Peachtree publishers and Netgalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
