What a weird mess of a book. But damn if it didn’t get me at the end.
This was definitely not how I thought this book series would end but here we are. It was a fine conclusion. I enjoyed it enough but it was nothing spectacular. One thing that I did find interesting were the references to more Stephen King books.

Probably my favourite of the Gwendy's Button Box series
I'm great at suspending my disbelief and getting completely wrapped up in the universe of a book. that said, this was pretty far-fetched. Gwendy must destroy the box IN SPACE!
Still, I enjoyed this miles more than the 2nd Gwendy book. You can really tell when King is involved or not.

I really enjoyed the first book. I should have stopped there.
I picked this up at my local library on a whim, sensing that it had some connection to King's Dark Tower series but not realizing it was part of its own trilogy as well. Despite starting with the final entry, I felt satisfied with how we are introduced to Gwendy and the glimpses back did enough to keep me on board. I'm tempted to go back to the previous entries for more of her relationship with her parents. The epilogue with her father was quite moving.
It's probably because we are in the midst of yet another election with a particular recurring character, but the references to politics and the covid 19 pandemic felt a little jarring and a sometimes a bit silly.
That said, I'm a sucker for a Dark Tower connection, it's good to see Tet Corp reaching for the stars.

This whole series is a great read but it’s been a while since the end of a book made me shed a tear. This one is a bit more special at least to me personally. You’ll see a lot of King’s typical plot structures but loved how they wove references to some of his other works in it. A great ending to the trilogy.
