This for sure got a lot darker. Some of the on page violence, gore, assault, etc. got hard to read but I think it was important to tell the story true to the characters.

This story does not shy away from the realities of trafficking, what happens to those involved. It doesn’t use it as a gimmick and plot device to get the hero to come swoop in quick and then continue the love story.

It was absolutely painful to read the trauma experienced, it was hard to read any spicy scenes after knowing what she went through because I honestly don’t know how I’d react personally.

But this being said… Zade is my ultimate book boyfriend now and that says so much bad about me. I need therapy like most of the people obsessing over dark romance.

This was in some ways as dark as I was expecting as well as less dark, more detailed than I assumed it would be in some aspects but other things we didn’t see much of.

This book… jeez. I almost DNF’d to be honest. Part I wasn’t even dark romance, it was just… dark. Also I hate prolonged reunions, so that didn’t help. To be fair, I was warned so I can’t even be mad. Part II redeemed the story for me. I don’t even know what to rate this book, but I do know that the next book I read will be full of fluff lol

Picking up where the first book left off. This book has a lot more trauma in it. Going into the human trafficking and has some really hard to read scenes. The smut is good and makes you just fall more in love with this couple.
