Wouldn't say this was one of my favorites. It felt like she didn't know which story to tell between the two storylines that flowed through the book. But I still love Sue Grafton's books and look forward to the letter H.
I appreciate how Grafton grows as a story teller as the series progresses. I hope Deets comes back in the future. What exactly does an electric letter opener look like?

This mystery didn’t quite feel like it all connected in the end. The romance subplot felt a little forced and unnecessary. The writing in this one also seemed a little off from the first six in the series. But I love following along with what Kinsey is up to and I had a good time.

Better than I would have expected after reading the first book. Sometimes Kinsey is being stupid and I don´t believe for a second that you can run off to do some heroic deed, while a few hours ago you almost got murdered and after this you felt like a zombie. Really, that feeling doesn´t wear off so quick. Not that I have ever been almost murdered.
Also, what is it with people to go suck someone´s face off in a public place, a library for God´s sake. After something completely unrelated. It´s not like he asked her to marry him. Why always in books?! Behave yourself(in public!) Yes, this does annoy me...
Well, other than that, a nice enough book.
Better than I would have expected after reading the first book. Sometimes Kinsey is being stupid and I don´t believe for a second that you can run off to do some heroic deed, while a few hours ago you almost got murdered and after this you felt like a zombie. She's ended books abruptly before but this one ended abruptly AND left me confused. So many names thrown in at the end... I had to go back and re-read parts to get the whole picture, which I don't feel I should need to do. And even then, I'm still left with questions. Additionally, the bit with the "first contact" (aka UPS guy) felt so out of character for Kinsey, like what? she would never be so stupid!
I did like Dietz and was so glad Kinsey found a real connection, but the reader is shut out of their four months together... G is for Gypped! I know these aren't romance novels but Grafton could have expounded on their relationship for a page or two, instead of just one measly sentence. Perhaps it gets explained more in the next book, as she is good at weaving past bits back into the current story. I hope so.

Okay but I love the new relationship. I know Kinsey is a solitary person, so I'm not sure I want it to develop into some longer-lasting romantic relationship, but I loved it in this book at least.
