Być może moja ocena jest zawyzona przez zachwyt, jak bardzo książka różni się od filmu. Jednak nawet nie porównując do siebie obu, punkt widzenia w książce, język, moment w czasie, to świetna kombinacja. A mając w głowie powracający fakt jak stara jest ta książka (ma ponad 120 lat) - Wow! W XIXw ktoś myślał już o kosmitach i zaawansowanej maszynerii???

This just never clicked for me and I don't know why. Not sure if I disliked the reader or whether I just am too stupid or wasn't paying enough attention to properly follow along or understand it. Will definitely have to revisit this in a different format at some point.

It’s worth a read. The language and that they use horses over cars etc. does give away its age but it’s a good story and I found it easy to read. I wasn’t fully hooked on ‘what happens next’ but probably because I already knew. The one thing I didn’t like and might just be my copy - it constantly has footnotes that are kept at the end of the book. I didn’t even read them after the first few (didn’t really feel needed) but having the numbers there distracted from the flow of the story for me but it’s a minor downside. It’s a very different story but is in the style of Sherlock Holmes.
