I absolutely loved Ford. Liv was crazy strong with her brother always breathing down her neck. And the only thing that irritated me was her brother. I’m hoping he’ll get better and realize how childish he has been in his book. On to the next book!

I have been eagerly awaiting Ford and Liv’s story since I first met the two of them in Shameless King. I knew there was a story there, just waiting to burst forth, and I couldn’t wait to see the journey that these two took Maya on. I remember when I finished Shameless King, anxiously scouring Goodreads to see if I could find any mention of their book and where it would fall in line, and then being completely heartbroken when I found out it was book four and the wait felt like it was forever; however, it was a wait that was completely worth every minute, because this book is the best thing that Maya Hughes has ever written, beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Fearless King is book four in the Kings of Rittenhouse series, and while it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the prequel and the first three books before diving in. It creates a great back story to the other couples mentioned, plus gives you a deeper understand of Ford’s relationship with his best friend Colm, and his relationship with Olivia.

Ford is the most quiet of the Rittenhouse Kings, and likes to live a quiet life, away from the cameras and the fans. He’s not big on socializing, and tends to stick with himself and almost avoids life in general. I was so curious to find out what made him tick, and what secrets he was hiding behind the avoidance of life, and I was not disappointed. Ford has denied his feelings for Olivia for a long time simply because she was his best friend’s younger sister and he didn’t want to hurt Colm. And in doing so, he ends up hurting Olivia and it isn’t until almost two years later that he gets his second chance.

Olivia is living in the shadow of her parents, trying to fulfill a promise that she made to them when they passed away years before. But as she’s grown older, her dreams have begun to change, and she’s terrified to disappoint Colm. Ford becomes her light in the dark, and he helps her release what makes her truly happy. Along the way, she brings out the best in Ford, and I just ADORED these two together. Fearless King is the best kind of angsty, slow burn romance and I was living for every minute of this book.

Honestly, if you’re a romance reader and you enjoy sports romances, or hockey romances and you haven’t picked up the Kings of Rittenhouse books, you are truly missing out. These books are an excellent source of romantic drama, and illustrate the power of friendships and how friends are just as important as family. 10 out 10 recommend!

I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. Ford and Olivia make my heart go

I honestly don't know what I thought of this book. It had its ups and downs, some really good moments and some parts I just wanted to get over with.

My main problem, as usual, are the secrets which lead to misunderstandings which lead to more problems. Everything would get out into the open anyway, so just rip the damn band-aid off...

The thing I have loved the most about this series is the Kings family. Their love and concern for each other is what makes this series so good, but it wasn't really there in "Fearless king" because how Colm was left unknowing about everything.

The best things in the book were, without question, the parts with/about Marisa & LJ (their best friends to lovers-book will be AMAZING if those moments indicate anything) and I loved hearing about Reece, Seph, Berk and Nix as well!! The connections between this series and Fulton U, where earlier mentioned characters are from (READ IT!!!), kept me going for most of the story.

Fearless King made a great addition to the Kings of Rittenhouse series. Ford and Olivia’s kinda unrequited love kinda second chance with a bit of family drama thrown in was a good, slightly angsty read.

This is how you do a Forbidden Love plot, lots and LOTS of tension!

I’m glad we finally learned the reason behind all the tension between Colm and Ford that was hinted at in #3. It just really drives the plot that much more. I didn’t think I was going to like Ford and Liv’s story much, but I was addicted! I finished this installment of Kings of Rittenhouse in one sitting and I already need more.

I do have to say while I loved this book it’s a pretty common theme now that all of the female protagonists have this...crisis? Every woman that a King falls for, so far, has reevaluated what she wants to do with her life and now it’s just predictable. I wish that would change up a bit, but other than that I have no complaints.

The writing in these books has stayed consistently good, if not getting a bit better with each book. The steamy scenes are STEAMY, and the characters feel like real people. I originally thought I wouldn’t be excited about the last book considering it’s Colm’s book and he’s not really in this book too much. I didn’t feel connected to him but I was wrong; I can’t wait for the final installment!
