I skim read the last 100 pages. I hate characters that don’t stand up for themselves. I hated the scene with the “puck bunny” basically assaulting Ford. I don’t have en emotional connection to the characters. Just not for me.

Ford and Olivia's relationship was inevitable. Brother's best friend who she grew up with and was always there when she needed him.

Olivia has suffered a lot in life, after loosing her parents when she was younger her older brother Colm raised her. She has always thought she needed to follow in her parents footsteps and become a doctor just like them because that has always been the plan but Olivia loves dancing, it brings her joy where being a doctor doesn't.

Ford and Olivia have this slow burn that eventually explodes. Ford and Olivia get caught on tape doing something a little naughty at a club. Olivia's place ends up catching fire and she stays with Ford. When Colm finds out that his sister is alive, and that Ford is with his sister this causes a massive crack in their friendship/relationship. The tension through this is a lot for their story but it all comes full circle in the end

Fearless King is a slow burn, brother's best friend romance and the fourth book in the Kings of Rittenhouse series. The series is about five guys who played for the same hockey team in high school, but who all find their HEA when they go off to college and the NHL. I love these boys, their strong bond, and the women who will become their queens.

Ford and Liv are my favourite couple from this series and their book lived up to every single one of my expectations. The heartache, the drama, the emotion, it was also so perfect!

Ford is the strong and silent type, some who is loyal to a fault. So, when he starts developing feelings for his best friend Colm’s younger sister Liv, he begins to feel so guilty, especially as their friendship is already strained. But when they kiss at Mak and Declan’s wedding, Ford distances himself instantly, because he knows if Colm finds out, he’ll go crazy. A year later, Liv is still hurt by how Ford has avoided her since, especially as she used to think of him as one of her closest friends. Under growing pressure from her brother’s expectations, and her own, for med school, she’s burning out and begins pulling away from Colm. Colm asks Ford to keep an eye on her, and he agrees, but his restraint is already slipping when it comes to his feelings. Ford and Liv make up and begin spending time together, opening up parts of themselves they’ve hidden from everyone else. The tension grows, and they finally give in to their feelings, agreeing to keep it a secret from the group. But as their relationship goes from strength to strength, they both know their hiding something major from someone important to them both, Colm. How will Colm react? Will Liv follow her own dreams, and will Ford and Liv make it as a couple?

Ford, honestly, I knew from the beginning he was going to be my favourite King. His past meant that he always tried to do what was best, what he thought was right, but kept secrets to keep others from getting hurt, which caused problems when they finally came out. I admired his ability to admit when he was wrong though, but also to stand up for himself, because the tension with Colm was partially his fault, but not completely, although I knew from the start that what Colm was accusing him of, Ford would have never done intentionally, he’s not that kind of guy. When it came to Liv, he tried his best to keep a distance, but his feelings were too strong, and nothing, not even Colm, was going to stop him from making her his.

Liv was my favourite heroine, her personality and feistiness meant she made Ford work for it when he reappeared in her life. I loved how she stuck with the other thing she loved to do, even though it was wearing her out, because it was the only thing that felt like she was living, not surviving. My heart broke when she opened up to Ford about the pressure her parent’s legacy put her under, the hurt she went through after they passed, and how all she wanted from Colm was a brother, not a parent. Ford helped her to realise what she truly wanted in life, there were no expectations around him, she could be herself and that’s what made her truly happy.

As a couple, I adored their banter and how they just seemed to click. They worked so well together, pushing each other in different ways, and they were so hot together too. The video wasn’t great, but I am so glad everything resolved itself in the end.

Every time I read series like this, I am overwhelmed by the group dynamic, I love the banter, the wit and how they can just be there for one another always. As the girls are introduced to the group throughout the series, it doesn’t change, they are more like brothers than friends.

Overall, Fearless King is my favourite of the series, the emotions it brought out of me, I found myself holding back tears at how both Ford and Liv felt. I am slightly reluctant to read Colm’s book next, because he definitely didn’t cast himself in a very good light throughout this book, but I am sure Maya has some form of redemption in store for him that will make me fall for his charm too! I would highly recommend Fearless King!

4 Stars

Fearless King is the fourth book in the Kings of Rittenhouse series. It’s a brothers best friend and forbidden romance. It had angst, drama, endearing moments and a Hero I was swooning left and right for.

It’s no surprise I’ve taken a liking to these characters. From the first book I was completely hooked and needed all of the Kings’ books. And I can honestly say I have not been disappointed.

I was excited for Ford’s book. And when I found out who his love interest would be it made me that more excited. I always had a feeling it’d be her, and I was all for it. Ford has always seen Olivia as his best friend’s little sister. That is until he starts seeing her in a different light, and now he can’t get her out of his head.

Olivia has always had a crush on Ford. But being younger than him and also being his best friend’s little sister she knows nothing can come of her crush. Though sometimes that’s harder said than done and the heart does always want what it wants.

The chemistry between Ford and Liv is undeniable. They try to stay away and resist each other, but it’s useless. They were off the charts sizzling and just so hot together. There are some bumps along the way and obviously Colm isn’t happy with Ford and Liv, but that’s to be expected and not at all uncalled for. And it makes me that more excited for Colm’s book and what’s to come of his relationship with his best friend and sister.

Maya has done it again. Making me fall even more for this group of friends. I seriously can’t get enough of these Kings! Bring on the next book, I need Colm.

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book*

“With Ford, it was always and forever. And ever.” WOW. what a way to end the year! they make me so happy, i love them with all my heart<33

fuck colm i hate him so much i hope he suffers in his book because i will NOT be reading it!

i was so scared they weren’t going to live up to my expectations, after quite literally reading the whole series for them, BUT THEY DID AND THEY ARE EVEN BETTER.
they are milliejude, raisy and bamie sister ships and i yall cant tell me otherwise

2.5 stars. I honestly did not like this one. I just feel like it was all over the place and they treated Colm terribly. If they would have told them from the beginning what was going on he probably would’ve had a better chance understanding but instead ruined both of their relationships with him for the sake of their own.

Fearless King has everything I love about the brothers-best-friend trope. It had angst, and drama, and the swoony sweetness of two characters knowing that they shouldn't be together but unable to stop the pull of their chemistry. It was addictive reading and unputdownable. Once I started this book, I could not stop reading. Ford and Liv were absolutely perfect together and I couldn't get enough of them. I loved them!

Overall, this was a gorgeous romance story that will have you swooning and fill you with so many happy feels. The Kings of Rittenhouse is one hell of a series that is unmissable. Maya Hughes has written such a fantastic novel. I am looking forward to reading her final installment in this series!
