This book was so funny and entertaining. With just enough of a mystery to keep me going. I got such a bad sunburn because I read it almost entirely in one go and forgot to reapply my sunscreen 😂 The ending was kinda lackluster and keeps it from being a full 5⭐ book for me.

This is a refreshing take of the story “The Lord of the Flies” if you read the original book you can pick out who is who. The interesting take is how this reflects our culture which makes it even more funny and telling

Honestly, I wasn't all that familiar with Fyre Festival. I had different interests and ran in circles that either didn't really care or also weren't tracking what happened with that hot mess. But immediately upon starting this book I knew this was Fyre Festival. Which is fine in and of itself. That train wreck deserves to be mocked. Cue the heavy-handed mocking of all influencers - which, sure, I mock them, too. I don't subscribe to their lifestyle and I think a good number of them are just silly. But this felt like a lot, where at a certain point I was thinking, "I get it! Influencers and not very smart and they're very vain and vapid! Message received. Please stop." Even I noticed Hella Badid was a very poor caricature of Bella Hadid.. and I couldn't even tell you who Bella Hadid is. If you're looking for a clever satire of influencer culture and a mocking of Fyre Festival, this is not that. It is so obvious and not even very funny.
