Dreamboat 70's Man is too cool for school, but becomes tolerable by the closing chapters. It's a fun launching point for a series and Amber is a good concept.

Michael's review sums up my thoughts.

I will add that I felt it had potential. There were a couple of items I would have liked to follow through. Hearing other reviewers say the series improves makes me tempted to try more volumes. However, they'll be low in my pile given my experience with this one.

read for the 2nd time.

This was a fun quick read. After I got over his strange writing style I was really able to enjoy the story.

This shit kicks ass. Pulp adventure Narnia with the children playing in a fantasy world recast as scheming and devious princelings burning down an ever shifting multiverse in the fires of war.
