Ok I did not know what or how to believe in this book. I really thought it was the person that she made it put to be. But boy was I wrong. I should have figured it out, I usually do but I was stuck. The siblings relationship was very strained. Beth was mad that Michael made something of himself. Nicole was struggling with her addiction. It was kind of hard to get into when reading the first 25%. It really started to pick up at the end. I really did not expect this person. Maybe I need to sharpen my context clues. Theres is a trigger warning on Death because it’s talked about throughout the whole book

I think Nicole explains this book the best, -
“'Home Is Where The Bodies Are’ is about life, my life to be exact, but I think we end similar experiences in a way. maybe not the same ones I have, but there our universal themes. It’s about death, grief, regret, the things we need in life, and the things life needs from us. It’s about love with and without condition, it’s about addiction and healing, but most of all it's about family. What it means to be one, what it means to have one, and what it means to lose one.” -Nicole ch.48

Monsters can be the ones who live closest to you after all. Maybe as we grow up we realize that monsters aren’t some scary creature from a movie or book, but they are our own blood.

I really enjoyed this book, I read some reviews saying they didn’t like the different perspectives, and there was one character where I would agree with this statement, but at first it was fine, then after hearing it for like the fifth time it got repetitive of hearing a dead person’s POV, but it still added a lot. So i don’t think I would complain about that a whole lot.

It was a fairly light horror, which another reason some people didn’t like it, but as someone who prefers lighter horror/thriller books this was perfect. Definitely worth checking out if you want to try horror for the first time and want the family aspect to it all.
