Honestly would only give this 1.5 stars. It just went on forever, and the ending was not satisfying in the least. Definitely another Single White Female feel, similar to We Were Never Here but with a racier plot.

Undeniably juicy but I really wished for a happy lesbian ending and KNEW I wouldn’t get it… sigh.

Also how much of a monster was Kelly, letting Sabrina believe her husband was a murderer?? Absolutely sadistic.

this author has no idea how to use figurative language. there are approximately a gazillion similes and metaphors per page, and some of them are simply wrong or nonsensical. the main character's emotions oscillate wildly between two extreme opinions because the author has no idea how to write someone with nuanced feelings. the author is queer, but the book still feels inauthentic bordering on homophobic. the mystery was boring to begin with, and solved in a way that undercut any existing suspense. only thing i'll say is that it was a fast read; i read the whole thing in one day.

About the first 3/4 of the book was heavily focused on their relationships and waited until the last 1/4 of the book to introduce thriller elements. Once the thriller part started, it felt very rushed and like every trope was thrown into the plot.

Also, this book was set in the 2020 pandemic and constantly reminded the reader of it. V annoying :(

This one was good, but lost me at the end. Wasn’t a fan of
the ex girlfriend coming back and all of a sudden she’s just back in the house?? And then randomly Kelly’s ex is the killer?

Overall it was decent
