I definitely liked this book and intend to finish the series. But it doesn’t feel like it’ll stick with me. And I didn’t really like the 2nd person chapters.

I am changed by this book. I can't believe I put it off for so long. From the worldbuilding to the structure to the use of point of view to the characters and their relationships (including some of the most realistic polyamory I've ever seen in fiction), N.K. Jemisin flawlessly executed every single part of this stunning novel. I already know that I will be rereading the entire series because I know that Jemisin's writing will reward me for that. Wow.

I was confused a lot of the time but that might be on me
Felt really engaged with the world and the characters. Definitely want to continue with the series to find out what happens next. Truly inventive world.
