This has been one of my favorite stories for decades, and it feels right that my last book read in 2013 should be one that echoes: "I think I can, I think I can."

The Little Engine That Could is a piece of classic children's literature. This book is about a little blue engine tasked with taking toys to children and encounters a big obstacle along the way. The pictures are simple, colorful, and beautiful. The tale is relatively short. It is a social-emotional story that teaches children the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity. This book works very well for transportation thematic units.

This was my favorite book as a child. My parents were sick of it, but kept reading it anyway.

Have heard about the book. Have even said "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can". But until I had never read it. Much different then what I was thinking. Still good though!!

Camila’s first book from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Reading with Dolly Parton, who is pure joy :)

Cute and inspiring for little kids.

Well, I USED to think it was amazing anyway. My parents practically had it memorized, they'd read it to me so many times. They might still....

This may not be the best-written or best-illustrated book, but I used to read it to my brothers, I bought it when I was in graduate school and dealing with some difficult issues, and read it to my children. A meaningful book to me.
