Let’s just get straight into it. I thought the potrayal of the imperfections of a marriage was quite realistic and painfully relatable. I enjoy learning about Lauren’s explorations of being somewhat alone but I just feel like I need a little more depth to her journey. It still felt a bit on the surface level to me and wasn’t enough for me to fully connect with the characters like I did in Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and One True Loves. Nonetheless, it was an okay read. I listened to this on audiobook and I enjoyed the narrator. So no big loss for me.

Beautifully written, can connect to this story whether in a long term relationship or not
I’m starting to think this isn’t the author for me, but this book dragged and has the most selfish, self-centered, and annoying characters ever. I skimmed the majority of it because of the excessive amount of unnecessary chatter. Glad to be done.

Taylor Jenkins Reid does it again! This book will have you thinking. It reminds us that marriage is hard. It reminds us that if you don’t work at it it’s easy to become complacent or even petty with your partner and if you allow this to happen it’s hard to get the love back, BUT it is possible! I loved the characters in this book. Lauren is human and flawed but also ‘almost always does the right thing’. Ryan is a good man who forgot to be what his wife needs too. Lauren’s family is also quirky, weird and wonderful. I love how they love her (and Ryan).
