I'll write a clearer review after a re-read. This book is horrific tho, no doubt. A quick read, too.

Why do people like this book? I'm genuinely confused, I dnf'd it after 3 chapters.

I wasn't turned off by the premise, and I usually really enjoy freaky dystopias, but this is just bad. The set up is ridiculous, the characters are just bad caricatures, and it's just badly written (though this could be a translation issue?)

Idk somebody explain this hype to me pls

At first didn’t even know how to rate. This book was gruesome and uncomfortable in the most chilling way. The ending was something else. There’s so much to unpack here, especially the last few chapters but I genuinely just don’t want to. Definitely makes me consider going vegan. Emotion has been taken out of life and it’s wild to see how that truly impacts everything and everyone. There’s so much more to say but I don’t even know the words. The writing itself was decent but I didn’t love the long paragraphs or that it was often difficult to tell when Marcos was being spoken about or someone else. Again, lots to think about. A staple in the horror genre. So much to dissect but I’ll leave that for the readers who want to unpack all that cause I won’t be rereading.
