Sooooo, nice but nothing new here. If you have read about unconcious bias and womens problems in the work environment, you won't find anything surprising here. But for everyone who is a "beginner" in feminism and seeing biases, this book is a good start. If you like Cartoons, the better. I didn't mind them but they also didn't give me an overwhelming reading or visual experience
A good enough book, a collection of various incidents and theories we'd have read over the years about women in workplaces.
Does contain some really great, concrete advice for early/mid career stuff Downsides: overall tone was too generic internet, hashtag-resistance kitsch. Also, some truly unforgivable portmanteaus (HIMitator, etc.)
Wow. This book "nailed it on the head" for me so many times, putting words into feelings I hadn't been able to describe - and doing so with humor and constructive feedback to make real change possible both in the workforce and at home. I recommend this book for men and women who want to make a difference in the lives of women in our culture.
I want to like this book and I enjoyed the first quarter but the larger issues I see with sexism in the workplace are glossed over. The language and analogies used don't intelligently explain the issues but comes off as complaining without legitimate solutions for women facing these issues.
Really important book, even especially for men. Don't be a sexist asshole, even if you don't think you're being one.
although the repetitive format bored me to death, this book has a lot of useful and interesting information, specially since I'm just entering the work world myself. but it's a shame this is very America centred and it tells again and again that women are people with vaginas, when it doesn't take a lot of common sense to know that's not really true...

At first I really didn't like the twee/punny way this was written but I came to agree with its tone and the need for information like this to be accessible. More useful as a bible of sorts and not a self-help book or a non-fiction book, it's something to read once to validate your feelings about the world (or educate those who don't get it) and then consult again when you're feeling downtrodden. The data is interesting though more limited than I would have liked and I would have wanted it in pull quotes rather than foot notes.
