Giving the series a try... Maybe I'd like later issues or the anime more, but I found this superficial and pretty boring.

I have mixed feelings about this book so I'm going to split this review into positives and negatives.

Positives:
  • The artwork is absolutely stunning. Which isn't unexpected but every page is filled with beautiful artwork and also has various coloured pages too throughout.
  • Mina is a loveable protagonist and very amusing to read from the perspective of.
  • You can really see how this holds many of the building blocks for sailor moon and its enjoyable to see elements of what is to come.

Negatives
  • I normally love a good monster of the week comic or show but it get's a little repitive when our protagonist doesn't seem to develop much over the course of the adventures. It's actually a little irritating at points, espically towards the end.
  • The pacing is a little fast and it's hard to sit in moments or story beats.
  • The Dark Agency while a very cool idea as the baddies it falls a little short by not having enough

Bello scoprire qualcosa in più su Sailor V. I capitoli sembrano più delle short stories che le tappe di una trama complessiva.

I can definitely see why Takeuchi (or her editor) decided to go forward with Usagi as the main character. No matter how hard Minako tries, she never had the adorable clumsiness of the future protagonist. She just seems totally clueless, and a tad hedonistic.

I love Mina. She’s just as silly as Usagi lol. It’s nice reading a prequel to the Sailor Moon series!
