the only thing i hate more than a love triangle is one where one of the options is the blatantly obvious better choice.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this one - but from when Edith appeared, things picked up and I was in. I enjoyed an unlikeable and flawed main character. Even if it was frustrating at times and you just want to grab them and make them see sense. Pleasantly surprised by this one

This was far from "exciting times" to read. I was so absolutely bored the entire time, primarily continuing just to see how things got wrapped up and to see if it got any more exciting at all. I really think that Edith, Ava, and Julian should've ended up in a polyamorus relationship. It would've been a lot more interesting and it kind of looked to be going that way at one point. All of the characters annoyed me, but especially Ava, who was just an asshole the entire book. Julian I didn't like until the end and Edith I liked at first but then got annoyed with. Why the characters couldn't just properly communicate, I don't know. That could've been a part of character development, but as far as I could see, there was no character development at all. Other books did the slow paced, life reflection, showcase of an average life much better (like "Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead"). I gave it 1 star instead of 0 because there were a few bits that were mildly humorous.
Have you ever read something incredibly confusing and couldn't figure out whether you're just too dumb to get it or the author wrote a bunch of nonsense in order to seem smart, but isn't? Does that even make sense? That's how I feel about this book.

I initially was going to rate this higher but when reflecting about it I couldn’t really justify why? It read smoothly, very Rooney-esque but the characters were irritating af and not in an enjoyable way. Also nothing happened but also lots happened and it felt a bit boring. Not taking away how it was a nice read but left feeling very nonplussed
Idk what it was about this book that made it feel so relatable(?) maybe grounded & realistic (?) Idk but I really liked it. Was funny, sweet and interesting- but most importantly, was written in the half finished sentences that I speak in so heald my attention very well throughout. I really enjoyed.
Also I really hated normal people but loved this- I think this book did everything I wished normal people had done.
