OMG. I put this book off for so long for no reason at all. What a fool I was. What an absolute delight. Tessa Dare manages to write an extremely well-rounded short story (75-ish pages).

The first two vignettes (because that's what this novella was, rather than a cohesive narrative, which I must say worked in its favour) were red flag central. It didn't help that the author wrote her lead female with a younger personality than her actual age, but her being eighteen and in a compromising position with a leery, actually creepy man described as having 'silver in his hair'? Call me Enjorlas, because I am waving that massive red flag. Things slightly improve, but I never warmed to Harry - he was always telling the heroine what she thought and felt and in two seconds she would think 'oh yes, I actually do think that'. It read like gaslighting, but 'make it romantic'.

It's Tessa Dare, so the actual writing style was good - but I would've probably thrown this book out of a window if it were any longer than this.

This is a 1.5 star. My one stars are reserved for DNF, typically. But this was BAAAAAAD.
