Ant Man Second Chance Man was a really good read. I’m reading this only a few days after Nick Spencer’s second issue of Spider-Man and I really like this guy’s writing. So far this and Captain America: Steve Rogers are my favorites from him, his Spider-Man looks like it could be really good.

Alright so this is basically a revamp for Scott Lang’s Ant Man. He tries out for a job, has to move to be closer to his daughter, and juggle that with starting a new business.

The comic is on a very small scale but doesn’t feel it. Because it’s about Scott Lang and his struggles and that really worked for me. Another thing that worked for me was the comedy, I was consistently chuckling and had a few big laughs.
I’m going to continue to follow the trades of Nick Spencer’s Ant Man because this was really well written, I liked the light cartoony art style, and I really enjoyed it.

4 stars.

I really liked this! I love when they make the heroes talk like normal people, and here they did it with the villains too. I'd read another.

Wow, that was surprisingly good, much better than Ant-Man Season One. I loved the humor and there was a great cast of supporting players. I'm looking forward to the next volume.

I'm more familiar with the Hank Pym version of Ant-Man, and even then, barely. So it was nice to be introduced to a new one when he is just getting started (mostly). I still haven't seen the movie, so I'm not sure how this all ties to it, but I'll find out eventually.

Marvel knows how to write humor and sarcasm well - this shows up in both movies and comics. It's what keeps me reading, because I get not only a good (or at least interesting) story, but a few chuckles as well. And that's what I got here. I did enjoy the story, I wanted to see where it's going. But Scott Lang has an amusing sense of humor, and a fascinating sense of optimism.

Ant-Man was a character I was not familiar with before the films, save for minor appearances made by the Ant-Men (Hank Pym, Eric O'Grady, and, my personal favorite, Scott Lang). But the Marvel Cinematic Universe got me into comics, and, despite my wariness, I saw the Ant-Man film. And I loved it. It was fun, witty, gorgeous, and Paul Rudd killed it. And suddenly, I was an Ant-Man fan. This, being my first Ant-Man comic, did not disappoint. If you enjoyed the film, you will enjoy this. In fact, you might even enjoy the film more. There were so many times reading this that I could hear Paul Rudd's voice while reading the character of Scott Lang. This entire comic is fantastic. Without giving any spoilers, one of my favorite aspects of the comic is that you get a huge amount of references and appearances from both major and minor Marvel characters. The last comic I read was "Silver Surfer: Rebirth of Thanos," and I had intended to read Infinity Gauntlet after it. But a trip to the local comic book shop had me shrug and decide to buy this, since I enjoyed the book so much. Being written decades after "Rebirth of Thanos," I expected to be completely lost. But Nick Spencer cleverly makes sure that everyone knows what is going on in the current Earth-616, and this is a great place to start, if you want to get into the new Marvel comics.

When all is said and done, this was an awesome comic, and I will be sure to pick up more Ant-Man in the future.

I was really hoping to like this more. I really loved the movie ant man but this was really slow. I liked the story line of "just trying to be better for my daughter" but I really like the fantastical and fighting and this was a little to ordinary for me.

Very good, very fun and easy to read, especially with basic knowledge gained from the movie.

It feels like this story wants to be Fracton's Hawkeye but while fun at times I didn't love the art and the end of this collection is so disappointing it compromises one of the core values of Scott Lang as a character.
