dark emotional tense

I could do without the Sonny-Corleone-enormous-penis, and Lucy-Mancini-enormous-vagina, subplots, and Johnny Fontaine's story doesn't really need to be in the book, but otherwise, I love it. It's really just the trashy, dime-store version of what became the classic movie, but it's fantastic.

If you listen to it, look for the version with the full cast.

maravilloso, esta historia me lleno de muchas emociones, siempre admiraré al Sr Corleone

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the movie but this feels less like it’s own thing and more like a novelization of the movie. All the elements are there, the overly detailed backgrounds for minor characters, scenes that feel cut from early drafts, weird lurid bits, and generally just not being as good as the film.

Rereading one of my all time favourite books, although it is problematic as heck. Racism, misogyny. I adore Michaels journey.

Could have been 4 stars, if it treated the women in this book as 3 dimensional human beings, instead of cardboard cut out props. + The way the racism is dealt in this book was horrendous. Just because the story is set in a racist time, doesn't mean it couldn't have given a more of a reflective/thoughtful narration. The writer could have made a commentary on it, rather than accept the way things were. It's written in 1970s not 1870s.
