Gripping plot. Raises thought provoking questions about what is morally acceptable. Many of the characters were not as well developed as the plot they serviced.
I was reading the book mostly so I could see the movie (always read the book first) so I wasn't expecting such a great book. Wow! I really liked how the novel went into various stories of some key characters, giving us background just in time. Some of the details around the doctor and the singer have the story so much reality. I was really not expecting such a great story.
I don't think any book lover would not have read this one. This is one of those books that doesn't need any romance or any other factor to keep us going. And to think that this book is the inspiration for hundreds of movies! A must read.
