Great read, loved the family element but really struggled to like the Heroine. She was so annoying- I guess everyone finds someone in the end though so pretty realistic.
I took away one star because it had 'drama' - which is where things can be easily resolved by a conversation but somehow that does not occur to anyone.

Mean girls vibe
The characters in this story are the kind you hate to love and love to hate. The plot was unique and pulls you in. While I wasn't 100 percent sure of my feelings for the female characters with the whole mean girl vibe. Many of the male characters stole my heart and make me want to go back and read the original series. I am very much looking forward to the next book.

Thoughts: I was NOT a fan of this book and I am nervous for the rest of this series. I skipped a lot because I was not a fan of Daria. She seemed petty and honestly very much a freaking child. I hated how she had this "trauma" and that was why she was acting out - it didn't even seem like a real cause for her actions - it was like a thrown-in trauma to make us be sympathetic to her. I also was not a fan of how the parents were portrayed here. Maybe it's just me, but if I am reading a second-generation book I don't want to see the parents being shown as bad or neglectful, I want to see more of why I fell in love with them in the first series. It just was not my cup.
