Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me three times - oy, vey! Three strikes and I'm out.
I love the Royal Spyness and Evan Evans series, but this one is surprisingly trite and amateurish. Can't believe they come from the same woman.
Less a mystery, and more 'plucky heroine' experiences all the cultural touchstones of 19th-20th C. NYC - fresh off the boat; anarchists, artists, and free thinkers; McKinley's Assassination; Working conditions of Immigrant garment workers (think triangle fire). Tiresome. I'm listening to the end now not even waiting for the happy ending. Oy!

This cozy mystery series is getting more interesting but Molly needs a little more common sense! Loved the setting in turn of the century NYC.

Turn-of-the-century New York murder mystery with a stubborn woman detective. Very good. Has that "homey" quality I like.

This was the best in the series so far--a light mystery that also manages to explore the historical realities in this time and place, such as a plight of garment workers. A bit of a love triangle forms...though sadly, I don't like either of the men involved.
