The main character is so whiny and has so many repetitive thoughts that it made reading what she was thinking annoying. I need to take a break from reading books from a teenagers POV they exhaust me. The plot and story are so good though!
I am loving this series, Ally Carter is now officially a favourite of mine! A book full of intrigue and mystery and throwing out more questions than answers, I'm hoping this is going to be a long series, as long as Gallagher Girls.
The main character is Grace, a girl who has more secrets in her life than answers, after the big reveal of the previous book and the question of her mothers death was answered. But readers didn't get as much answers in this book in fact we got more questions, and to be honest I am really happy about that as the bigger conspiracy theory comes into play.
The secondary characters are the same as in the previous book except from in this book we meet her brother Jamie. A very good, stabalising influence on Grace especially considering how much of a mess she was in this book.
The storyline is gripping and surprising with some great twists, a huge conspiracy which readers have yet to read more about. The pacing is fast paced and fits the quick moving storyline very well guiding readers through the story and picking up pace.
5 stars an excellent book

So glad I gave the rest of the series a chance after I wasn’t so fond of the first one!
I get the first one better now.
In some ways I wish we weren’t in Grace’s head though. It’s kinda part of the whole story of course, but she does loop, understandable because she does think she’s crazy anyway, but some places of repetitiveness I ended up skimming.
There were some jaw dropping moments in the mess going on for sure. I really appreciated the history actually going on(though it is a fictional place? I wasn’t sure though it is mentioned it’s European?), the twists, and all the pieces floating around to be put together. And man once they start falling into place!!
I enjoyed the politics and mystery.
Noah and Rosie are my favorite characters.
I do like Alexei, you could tell how things were gonna go in that direction anyway, but this book you can tell how much he cares for Grace, there were a couple sweet moments.
Though PDA did ramp up a bit in this one… which, made me kinda look at this funny once I realized the age range here… is that a sign I’m getting old? I remember 16… but all the teenagers these days are such babies and I couldn’t help think any different here, ha.
This was definitely a page-turner and did not disappoint!

It was going to be 2 stars... Boy trouble, mysteries, lies, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah. But I bumped it up to 3 stars because I most definitely did NOT see the twist at the end coming.
I loved the first book in this series and this one was going so well, building up perfectly, until the end. And the little tidbit of information thrown into the end seemed very… cliché. I am sad to say it but the rest of the book was amazing, please do read anyway.
It's been a while since I read the first one but this was an enjoyable enough book. It's not a book to read if you're feeling low as the trauma can be very hard to read but it's twisty and interesting.
So, I'm writing this review after just finishing the book...and all I have to say is wow.
I wanted to read this book as soon as I'd finished its predecessor. I was overwhelmed with the cliffhanger it left me on, and let me be the first to tell you that this book is no better. Ally Carter really knows how to work in plot twists.
ANYWAYS, the day after I'd finished All Fall Down, I went to the library to get the sequel. I didn't start it right away because I was finishing another fantabulous book, The Great Hunt by Wendy Higgins. But once I finished that, I started this book.
Yesterday I had gotten through the first seventy or so pages, but when I started reading this morning I couldn't put it down. I finished it in one sitting and I was blown away.
I should've known it would be even better than the first book. Dammit, Carter.
Grace is the kind of character that people might see as annoying or attention-seeking, but she really isn't. Not at all. She's just a girl with a broken and confusing past. It seems that all people ever do is lie to her, and she wants answers.
She hates herself for her mothers death. She didn't understand what was going on at the time, and ended up hurting her mom when she was trying to save her. But it was an accident, and she's been forgiven.
So know she knows how her mother was killed, but that doesn't answer the fact that someone else was sent to her door to kill her and Grace still doesn't know why.
But then Ms. Chancellor brings her into the world of the Society. Grace doesn't quite understand however, and she's left with even more unanswered questions.
And then, to make matters worse, Jamie's friend Spence from West Point washes ashore dead and Alexei's the prime suspect. It seems like things couldn't get much worse, right?
But of course, they always do. Grace knows he didn't do it, but the American tourists don't know that. They just love the idea of a Russian ambassadors son being the killer of a West Point cadet. Jamie's pretty distraught, but Grace and her friends do everything they can to hide and protect Alexei. Especially after the car he was supposed to be in blows up, with the driver being killed.
It's also the Festival of the Fortnight, the fourteen days of remembrance of when people stormed the palace and killed off the Royal family two hundred years ago.
Grace tries to figure out who really killed Spence, and why. She knows it wasn't Alexei.
But the Scarred Man tries to keep her at bay, telling her what she's doing is dangerous. Everything that's going on only leads her to more secrets about Adria, the Society, and even her true identity.
Man, the shit gets real when Grace realize Spence was killed because someone thought he was Jamie. They're really after Grace. But why the heck are they after her? She didn't do anything.
Oh, I'll tell you why. Because, ladies and gentleman, Grace Blakely is the lost princess of Adria. And that means Jamie is the prince. Yes, that's right. Baby Amelia survived the night her family was killed. She was hidden and lived or her life.
Grace's mother had been killed because she was heir to the throne. More so than the actual royal family. But of course, we don't find out until AFTER Jamie's shot.
My god, this book. Made me feel too many things. I'm still mad, and I need answers! Especially since the next book only comes out in 2017!!!
RIP me. I will probably die of feels before I can even read the next book.
It was worth it though. It's always worth it.

OMG this book was too much. Ally Carter gives me purpose to live. Honestly Grace and Alexei are adorable how all they want to do is save each other. Same with Jamie and Grace. And that plot twist about her being the lost Princess of Adria and how Spence died because they thought it was Jamie and it was so unexpected, but in a good way. Counting the days until the next book!!

Just like in All Fall Down, Carter crafts a novel with plenty of twists and turns. And fair warning, the ending will leave you hanging.
I loved getting to see the relationship between Jamie and Grace. I love when siblings have a tight bond in books. As in the first book, I just hurt so much for Grace and her hurts and scars. Also, Dominic is pretty awesome.
It did bug me a little in this book and the last one how easy it seemed to sneak into various embassies. It seems a little unbelievable.
See How They Run is a fulfilling sequel to All Fall Down, perfectly set up for the final novel in the series.
Cautions: Two kisses; moderate romance; brief, non-graphic, moderate violence

Great continuation, I’m hooked.
Sort of like Davinci Code meets cute highschool romance novel.
