Boring, boring, boring. I could not get into this book. A lot of awful things happened in this book. The main character is so unlikeable that I couldn’t get invested enough, even with the terrible things that happened to her. Three people I know recommended this book to me. I had much higher expectations. From the very beginning I hated the main character. So selfish, materialistic, apathetic… I would hope that trauma would make someone more compassionate.

made the mistake of watching the movie for this book when it first came out, but i liked the book a lot better. challenging to get through because of the realness of the situations the main character goes through.
